Keelia: "Yes,' She says first to Sheila, then to M

Smon: Sheila looks to Malassandra.
"What do you mean about Xin?"
Keelia: "First things first, get the people off this mountain. Then we pack."
chris107: "Well my guess would be that reconstructing the Sihedron has woken my emperor."
Smon: Sheila's eyebrows raise.
Keelia: Q motions to the black clouds.
chris107: The Paladin gives the selfish thief a withering look
Smon: Sheila squints out to sea at the distant clouds.
Smon: "The clouds mean Xin has awoken?!"
chris107: "It is only a guess. Has there been other signs from Xin whilst I slept?"
Smon: GM anyone got +10 Nature (ie passive 20)?

Smon: Sheila shakes her head. "The records indicate Xin died a thousand years before the fall of Thassilon. Following a brief civil war, the 7 Runelords of that era established their rule with Xin's son as a puppet emperor..."
Smon: GM: Quillax senses the epicentre of the Earthquake was not here, on the Irespan where the Sihedron reformed, but out to sea in the direction of the city of Xin.
chris107: "So this sign could well be portentious, coming as it does with the remaking of the Sihedron. Xin's greatest creation?"

Smon: To feel tremours here 100 miles from Xin would mean a massive upheaval occurred.
chris107: "I pray my emperor too has been remade."
Smon: Sheila strokes her chin, looking out to sea. "Hm, I see what you mean. There wasn't anything in the records about this, but you would likely know better than I."
joriandrake: "I haven't heard the mention of Xin so often in the last two centuries than just this last week" Drakhain says, stretching his legs then looking at the sky "Perhaps I preferred that"

chris107: She looks in the direction of Quillax and the Sihedron. "Or his power."

"Hm... is the sea getting lower?"
Looking down from the Irespan, you see the sea is definitely receding, as from an ebbing tide, but much faster.

Looking down from the Irespan, you see the sea is definitely receding, as from an ebbing tide, but much faster.

Smon: Sheila: "You think the whole city of Xin may have arisen?!"
She gasps.
chris107: "It would seem possible and explain the falling sea level."
joriandrake: "What? ALive or like, full of undead?"
Smon: Meanwhile Quillax has chivvied a few stragglers off the Irespan, from between the brightly coloured fairground tents and scattered debris of the recent celebration.
chris107: "The very earth trembling."
Smon: It seems as if the ocean is being drained by the pull of some giant plug, you can see the base of Irespan pilings long submerged.
chris107: "It has been a hundred centuries since Xin fell. Who knows what it may contain?"
Keelia: back - sorry (had to put away groceries)
joriandrake: Drakhaien with a grim look at the ocean places his black mask back on
chris107: "But I would suggest it may well contain secrets that would help you in your battle against the runelords."
Smon: Quillax returns to the others by the Sihedron shrine having made sure the Irespan is clear. Then you all see a dark line on the western horizon, getting rapidly closer - and larger. A wave - a very BIG wave!
chris107: "Arrgghh!"
chris107: (any guess how long until landfall?)
chris107: "We must get everyone to higher ground!"
Keelia: Q shouts to Rogare
Keelia: "Get the guards to round them to highest ground
Keelia: She considers the Sihedron behind her. "How much do you think this will power my spells?"
chris107: "It will give you access to new spells depending on which point is acendent."
chris107: "And certain benefits when casting your own."

Smon: The wave looks about 20' high; enough to swamp much of the low-lying parts of the city.
chris107: "The generosity arm could allow each of us to polymorph into a flying creature for example."
chris107: "But that would not help the poor souls in the city. As Quillax says we need to find a way to deflect the wave."

Smon: You have about 12 seconds until it makes landfall.

Keelia: If I create a few stone walls I can direct the tsunami away from the city.
Keelia: She passes it
joriandrake: After some hesitation Drakh takes the mask off again and looks at the others "I helped last time evacuate the city, we can't o much more, but I could summon a shelter for us. It would take time though, it is a ritual summon. Not certain if we have that time"

Keelia: She casts water breathing on all those around her, then launches herself towards the tsunami is her fast flying form - likely something like a peregrin falcon
Keelia: or maybe air elemental - that might be faster
Smon: GM: Malassandra takes off from the Irespan, Sheila gripping tight to her griffin-mane, wide eyed.
Keelia: and moves towards it as fast as she can

Smon: GM: I think the fastest bird would be fastest - Quillax turns into a peregrine and flies towards the wall of water, now 6 seconds from landfall.

Keelia: As she gets closer, she starts throwing down walls of stone at an angle to the waves, to direct them away from the city but also into each other to disrupt the forward flow of water
Smon: Beacon's Point & Underbridge are about to be submerged.
Keelia: She makes the walls as high as she can

Smon: Followed by Dockway and the Bazaar of Sails.
Smon: Quillax roll init DC 10 to get 2 rounds of casting off
Keelia: (if I use that, don't you stop turning into a pegasus and fall?)

Keelia: She'll place it from beacon's point towards the river so at least part of the tsunami gets swept up the river and hopefully saves some lives

chris107: Malissandra's heart brakes at her impotence to save the lives of the innocents.

Smon: GM: OK Quillax places a 20' tall 120' long wall of stone out west from the 82' tall Wyrmwatch Lighthouse at the head of Beacon's Point and maintains concentration as the wave of water hits the city... the water that strikes the wall deflects, rushing up the river and doubtless saving dozens of lives, but the city screams as the surge strikes.

Keelia: She changes forms fast as she can to an air elemental and then conjures elementals
chris107: M looks to take Shiela to safety before swooping low over the devestated city looking for others to rescue.
Keelia: The wall will be useless now so she summons a water elemental and orders it to rescue any people that it can
chris107: (Would M know about Tsunami and if it would likely have any second waves?)
Keelia: She zooms around plucking people out of the water and dropping them on higher ground.
Smon: Boats
are carried up from the harbor and dashed against the
docks or nearby warehouses, which crumble under the
rushing tide. People and animals are swept away by the
horrendous wave—first deep into the city’s drowned
streets, where they are crushed by debris—and then out
to sea, where those unlucky enough to have survived
likely drown. The wave itself doesn’t resemble the classic
curling breaker, but is rather a 10-foot-high wall of water
that simply pushes inland, f looding much of the city’s
waterfront districts. The brunt of the wave’s force strikes
the western shores of Beacon’s Point and Underbridge, but
surges up into Dockway as well—Ordellia and Keystone
are spared significant damage, although the waters do
f lood up the Yondabakari in a powerful tidal bore.
joriandrake: (the wall was a good idea, it should weaken the force of the fllood, but I don't think it actually avoids the ciy getting underwater)
Smon: Quillaz dispels her wall and gets to work conjuring another air elemental and plucking survivors from the drowned city.
chris107: M weeps as she flies down to help survivors.
Smon: Sheila: "Let me down at Heidmarch Manor, Lady Malassandra."
After leaving off Sheila, Mal goes to help Quillax and others rescue who she can, knowing more waves are likely.
chris107: (We could be swapping the Sihedron each round and finding more suitable forms for the rescue)
chris107: (Making full use of it's powers if we arte within 120' of each other)

Smon: GM: Quillax & Malassandra roll Charisma checks to see how many you save, Q x2 for the help of the air elemental.

Smon: While stone buildings survived the wave with
some damage, wooden buildings and Varisian camps are
devastated by the waters. Hundreds are washed out to sea as the waters withdraw, or were simply pulverized by surging waters filled with rubble.
Smon: You have rescued around 40 people plus about 60 more from the wall of stone breakwater, when 5 minutes after the water struck you see a second wave coming in.
Keelia: Q commands the elemental to continue to try to save people
chris107: Back to the irespan
chris107: with another survivor. We should regroup.
Keelia: She lands besides the others. "I do not have the magic for this."
Smon: Malassandra rejoins Drakhaien-turtle on the Irespan, two small children boy & girl holding tight onto her mane as she lands, looking very Narnia.
chris107: (I think from memory Magnimar is a city of lawyers? Hope they don't sue us for causing this?  )
Smon: Yes  Sadly the lawyers live in the heights safely above the common folks!
Keelia: "My magic was geared for fighting, not tsunamis."
chris107: M retakes her own form, comforting the children and looking out for her friends.

Smon: The air elemental plucks a stumbling man from just ahead of the surge and takes to the sky just as the wave it crashes below them.
Keelia: "I can lay down another wall, but it will have as little impact as before."
Smon: For the 3rd time J, you are on the Irespan about 180' above the waves.
chris107: "We can only do what we can do."
chris107: "Our every action is saving some lives."
joriandrake: Turtle-Drakh draws a dome-shape on the ground
Smon: The kids do regard the turtle as a distraction though.
Keelia: She shakes her head. "I will try my best."

Smon: As the second wave crashes through the city, you see gleaming metallic forms among the debris - forms familiar to Malassandra.

Smon: The wave is about 10' above the city's harbour walls.
Amid the tangle of broken buildings, upturned carts, and unfortunate
citizens, an increasing number of metallic limbs of a
strange nature are visible. These are the arms, legs, and
other body parts of specialized clockwork soldiers—Mal recognises them as Xin’s
Legionnaires, destroyed during their magical transport
or after being smashed into the city itself. In a few cases,
mostly intact but still “dead” bodies of Xin Legionnaires
are visible amid the debris.

Keelia: Q launches herself into the air, switches forms, and goes to save more lives
Smon: You have to pass it freely as a Reaction, and it then teleports to the recipient.

joriandrake: THis is great, despite being at the sea the flood waves are relatively low  (not like those which can easily be higher than skyscraper, I feared this would be a worst situation)

Smon: Quillax as you fly down looking for more survivors to save, you see three gigantic metallic eel-things emerging from the water at Beacon Point, in the relatively undamaged area you saved with your wall of stone against the first and largest wave.

joriandrake: If I use any other power than polymorph, would the poly end?
Smon: OOC coincidence the adventure actually says they come out there, in the same place Q placed the wall of stone breakwater
Keelia: She glances back to M to see if she is behind her still, and if she is, signals her
Smon: GM: If you use a second Concentration power the first one ends.
chris107: M, seeing the gesture flies to investigate the possible danger.
Keelia: Q zooms down to investigate.

joriandrake: Ah, and I also have to remember what emotions a power opposes I belive

Smon: The powers work exactly like the spells.
joriandrake: Charity grants its powers to turtle-Drakhaien and he passes it over to the nearest ally(PC)
chris107: (Make a brief list, it takes a couple of minutes and then it's at your finger tips)
joriandrake: Many powers don't seem to have actual spell effects just grant the use of them, like the spell-like ones (Counterspell for Charity, but also +2 AC)
Smon: OOC Yes, start working on learning how to use it.
Smon: Counterspell is a spell effect, +2 AC is not.
joriandrake: I didn'tz cast it, it just enables its use, but yes, it is a spell effect

Smon: GM: So Q air elemental, Mal gold dragon, is Drak polymorphing?
chris107: Each point has a spell like power + the abilities.
joriandrake: (Drakhaien now has Charity and Generosity powers enabled - Kindness/temperance/humility/love are opposites so I assume can't work at same time with this)

Smon: BTW note that it's much more efficient to transfer the Sihedron (reaction) than turn it to a new point (action)

joriandrake: I have cast Polymorphs right away to become a turtle, so I either still have turtle-form and the +2 AC (and counterspell ability) from Sihedron, or I just keep Generosity to hold on to turtle form
chris107: Or use Poly again to get a more useful shape to help?
joriandrake: It is a concentration spell so Polymorph should still work if I use a different 'ascendant'

Smon: The new form can be any beast whose Challenge rating is equal to or less than the target's (or the target's level, if it doesn't have a Challenge rating). The target's game Statistics, including mental Ability Scores, are replaced by the Statistics of the chosen beast. It retains its Alignment and personality.

made of immense metal plates and machinery. They
immediately surge out of the churning waters, attacking surviving
buildings and citizens alike with blasts of lightning and powerful slams and bite attacks.

joriandrake: (During one of Bochi's campaigns a druid used pixies to polymorph the party into alligators or corodiles, then cast Fly on the team to fight a horde of goblins/trolls/gobolls)
Keelia: Q narrows her eyes and dives down to attack
Smon: Mal recognises them as Clockwork Leviathans, battle meks based off the Azlanti Dragon Eel.

Keelia: (oh my god, that sounds like an amazing fight!)

joriandrake: (It was a good idea, problem was the druid didn't ask the PCs/Players if they actually want to turn into that, and eat the critters)
Smon: GM Quillax you can roll Stealth for your air elemental form to get a surprise round.

Smon: OOC if you recall the first Avengers film, these things look a lot like non flying versions of the snake things in the New York battle

chris107: Well they are killing innocent people
Smon: They're immune to lightning, paralysis and being knocked prone. If you hit them you get an electric shock.
chris107: Do we just let them kill at will and destroy Magnimar?
Keelia: Having worked with Clank for so long and being a techno-druid to a certain extent - would Q know how best to attack them?
chris107: M will fight along side Quillax
Smon: OK Q is spotted by the one she's approaching - they are a couple rounds apart, spread through the ruins.
Smon: They can shoot lightning but their main attacks are bite & tail slap. As constructs, mind magic won't affect them.
joriandrake: Simon: What's the distance between the Irespan and the eels?
Smon: Q & M can roll init as they attack the nearest eel thing. The Irespan is about 3000' from the battle.

chris107: It took me a good couple of hours reading the powers and seeing how they can work for everyone. Really worth while. That and having a note of what it does in front of me

joriandrake: if the others don't mind it, the hydra form still works for a hour so I could use the artifact for a couple turns to heal 20 hp turnly to full, then give it over
joriandrake: What confuses me most is the opposites, need to be careful what you pick to use

joriandrake: but if I keep using just a couple I get used to it should be fine

joriandrake: I liked the hydra assault, I had already an idea of a Triton character but no class for it, if a druid can turn into a hydra he could become an undersea druid, but it depends on GM
Smon: Main reason not to swap on your turn is if enemy are about to attack, can make sense to use reaction on enemy turn.
