Smon: (2) Drakhaien recalls some obscure knowledge from the Therassic Library...
Smon: Although Xin kept records of his spells in a series
of spellbooks, he preferred using seven potent minor
artifacts of his design when preparing spells. These seven
objects were known as spellwells, each of which was devoted
to one of the seven Thassilonian schools of magic.
Smon: It was Xin’s spellwells that
eventually inspired the runelords in their creation of the
more powerful runewells.
The floating, rune-carved disk in this room looks to be one of
Xin’s spellwells.
Smon: Apparently per Quillax's detection this is the Well of Love.

Smon: The throne is made of Djezet, yup.
chris107: M tries to stay within 30 feet of her friends at all times
joriandrake: Drakhaien recites what he recalls. Then adds. "I've got a specialist spellbook too now" He pets his albino bat, still sitting on his shoulder "Although it only has rituals inside. Maybe a spellwell could imbue it with some of the ancient magics."

Keelia: "Be careful around the throne, unless you want to have some sort of love charm possibly cast on yourself or others," she warns

Smon: Drak can sense the powerful magical energies in the room. With PP28 he reckons there are magical traps warding the crystal-clogged east doorway.
Keelia: She nods to M and eases closer to throne. "Alright. you or me?"
JamesDevil: Claw ties ropes to each person that is going in
joriandrake: "My trap sense is tingling"

Smon: Specifically, D detects magic traps on the floor just west of the east door, and on the walls to either side of it.
Keelia: She nods. "Alright, we'll deal with that in a moment."
joriandrake: Drakh describes the danger of that floor and walls
chris107: M - I have no understanding of arcane magic but will ward you and dispel any rogue effects
joriandrake: Drakh will cast his upgraded mage hand and will try to disarm the traps from the distance
JamesDevil: Claw returns to the door they entered from
Keelia: "Alright, me it is. You stay close, but not too close." Q edges up to the throne to examine it.
Smon: The red throne is about 30' from the west door, in the SE of the room.
chris107: The east door been the one covered in the jagged scab?

joriandrake: Drakh pauses "please not mine, thank you" he says to M
Keelia: She considers. "What do we think about me having the Sidhedron?"
JamesDevil: Claw gives Drakh some slack
Keelia: "Love throne and love point?"

chris107: The S will help protect us. We should swap it between us while we investigate
Keelia: "Or are we moving into scary orgy-triggering territory?"

Smon: Drak moves 10' into the room to get within mage hand range of the clogged east door, the rest of you behind him. He uses Mage Hand and starts trying to deface the invisible trap runes in the correct order, much like disarming a bomb... which one first Drak?

Smon: You can roll either Arcana or Thieves Tools.
Keelia: Q can provide support for either
joriandrake: I guess I start with the one on ground

Drak works patiently... as he disarms the last rune a giant crystal hand emerges from the floor, writhes, and vanishes! Trap #1 disarmed.
Keelia: Q taps him with Guidance for each trap - just to save repeating myself
Smon: Guidance again... trap #2 (say left side of door)
joriandrake: "Hm, a crystal hand? I assume more than one would try to grab us if the traps are triggered, I assume also that we're out of range, but be prepare to avoid these, just in case"
chris107: And M is ready to cleanse him of undesirable effects
Keelia: She can also support him with her own (not quite as high) expertise in Thieves tools

joriandrake: "Well, as far I can see, the room is clear now, we can check out the love spellwell in detail now"
Smon: Q no longer Detects Magic from the far door.
joriandrake: He pets the albino bat satisfied
JamesDevil: Claw lets the ropes slack again, he still doesn't trust this room
Smon: GM: In future I can assume if there is no time pressure Drak can ID and disarm similar traps automatically, the spot & disarm DCs are mostly in the 24-26 range.

slowly start spinning. Countless combinations of runes
spiral around the disk’s edges, while the center seems to
fall away into an infinite tunnel toward a bright light. The
walls of this tunnel are decorated with spiraling patterns
of runes...
Smon: Every non-arcane caster in room roll a DC 15 WIS save (not Drak as he's Arcane Trickster)
joriandrake: His detective mind rushes right away to decipher the rune combinations and make sense of this all
Keelia: (Jorian, you need to follow the narrative or there's no point in us planning and announcing what we were doing)
Smon: Drak's mind seems to fall away down into a Tunnel of Love, opening his mind to boundless possibilities...

Smon: GM: Drak gains Advantage on all Concentration saves and all Casting checks (eg to dispel magic or counterspelll) for 24 hours. Furthermore he can swap out any memorised spell for ANY Enchantment/Charm spell in the PHB.
joriandrake: Drakhaien tries to gain any knowledge from the spellwell, if posible to power himself up, or gather magic into his own book of rituals
Smon: Drak was in the room like I said.

joriandrake: neat, is this giving me access to all Enchantment/Charm spells, without losing anything?

Smon: Drak your memorised spell total remains constant but you can swap out any you wish for any Enchantment/Charm spells. You still need to have an appropriate level slot to cast them.
joriandrake: Understood. IS it instant swap, or needs some form of resting?
joriandrake: Also, this is temporary, perhaps depending on range to love spellwell?
JamesDevil: "Ok, so do we want to try to break through the crystals? or head back the way we came and open another door?"

Smon: Normally memorised spells are only lost if you over-write with another spell. If spell is of a level you can cast, and you have it memorised, you can transcribe it to a spell book during a Long Rest.
Smon: GM: Drak can stay as long as he wants in the chair, but he needs to choose his new spells while sat on it.

Smon: Crystals fall away beneath Claw's mighty blows.
joriandrake: Drakhaien, still sitting on the throne takes out his ritual spellbook and begins to write from spellwell memory the Animal Messenger Enchantment ritual spell inside it
JamesDevil: Nothing stands in the way of Claw
Smon: The stone crystal scab is a couple feet thick, unlike the 4" thick door that shattered in a single blow this one takes a few seconds to smash through...

joriandrake: (As far I can see this is the only permanent spell/ritual I can get for my book from PHB Enchantment list - plus I check the swap options next)

joriandrake: He places the book away "Wait a minute, i'm almost done here"

Smon: As the crystals fall away, Drakhaien (& anyone else PP 25+) experiences a strange vision...
“Leave us!” shouts Xin, pacing before seven exquisitely
dressed court wizards and tables holding countless
wealth, while an army of retainers and handmaidens exits
behind them with great haste. “The Shoanti tribes refuse
to break antiquated oaths. The Varisians refuse to share
their ancestral lands. Can civilization not eclipse old ways?
Why do they not heed their emperor?”
“Your grace’s wisdom is vast,” sneers wizard in fine
robes, “but our emperor’s time is too precious for such
trifles. Perhaps we...” With an eldritch flash, Xin vanishes
and reappears before his apprentice, his aging hand arcing
with arcane fire clutching the wizard’s throat. “And what
would you do, Xanderghul? Rule in my stead?”
A staggeringly beautiful woman lays a calming hand
on Xin’s outstretched arm. “We mean only to administer
your justice, your grace—to ease the heavy burden of your
rule.” Xin releases the gasping savant. “I have taught you
well, Sorshen. Are you all not my devoted disciples?” The
seven wizards prostrate themselves before him. “You have
always served me faithfully. Perhaps it is time you served
me further.” The scene fades as Xin turns his back on the
wizards, who regain their composure with malevolent smiles.

Inlaid in the dark crystal floor is a large Sihedron rune, each of
its arms painted a different metallic sheen—black, blue-green,
pale green, red, coppery orange, silver, and ivory-white.t
JamesDevil: "I'm guessing those smirking wiztards we're the ones that betrayed Xin"

Smon: A timeglass appears as a 1-foot-long elongated glass bulb set
within a stand made of horacalcum. Within the bulb churns a
mote of pale blue mist—vapors extracted from strange flowers
that grow only in the Dimension of Time. A timeglass can be
used as if it were a crystal ball with true seeing, but also has the
ability to scry upon events in the past or future. When using
a timeglass to look forward or backward in time, a user can’t
specify what creatures are viewed, but does look upon someone
with whom the user has interacted before or will interact in the
future. It can be used in this manner only once per day.
If used to look into the past, the timeglass does one of two
things—it can reveal to the viewer a memory that’s been
forgotten or put an old piece of knowledge into a new context...

the past, allowing for a brief one-way communication to that
person. The recipient of this message generally interprets
the message in the form of a vision, or a strange prophecy,

remain empty. The others each offer a jagged chunk of black
metal ore the size of a kettle. A black metal halberd leans
against the wall next to each statue
