Claw Mal & Quillax return to Jorgenfist, joined by an elven Bladesinger from Crying Leaf and eventually by Drakhaien. Dine with Quillax's druids, heal, rest overnight, then next morning head back to Xin-Shalast, reaching the city outskirts a little after 3pm on 22/3/4720.

Simon N. (GM):GM: OK it's still quite early on a sunny windy morning in the Iron Peaks when Claw Quillax & Malassandra return to Jorgenfist, the giant fortress that is Quillax's stronghold, beneath it lies the Therassic Library, possibly greatest repository of ancient knowledge on Golarion. At the gates they see a powerful looking elven warrior (Eldrin) talking with two of Quillax's robed druids, Sheela (f) & Dermirr (m), while Sheela's pixie companion Alkaia flits about.
Chris T.:Hmmm lag back :(
41 second lag :(
Simon N. (GM):Sheela breaks off talking with the Bladesinger to greet her mistress, a worried expression on her face. "Archdruid! We have been trying to contact you!"
(hopefully Keelia's weird noise is not serious)
(I've muted Eldrin) :)
Quillax:I'm back. It turned out to be the drier making a weird whiny noise...
Jorian Drake:(I'm fine with people talking, as long no one expects me to speak instead of typing)
Simon N. (GM):Dermirr strokes his fuzzy beard agitatedly. "The army of Shalast has passed the Storrval Steps! They must be nearly at Ravenmoor by now!"
JamesDevil:"WHAT? I had an army of giants there!
Quillax:(Chris has major lag - talking will end up excluding him)
Simon N. (GM):Sheela: "Lord Claw! Your Captain Iskar had his forces and the giants withdraw before the Shalast, according to the instructions of Mayor Grobaras."
Simon N. (GM):Dermirr: "Oh! Archdruid - Allow me to introduce Lord Eldrin of Aetherwood. The hero of Crying Leaf! He has come to offfer his aid."
Eldrin Ætherwood:Arch druid, a pleasure to meet you.
Quillax:"Welcome to my home," Quillax says, scrubbing blood off her hands onto a handkerchief to offer it to shake
Simon N. (GM):GM: All but Malassandra have heard of the 4713 Battle of Crying Leaf, when a force of Mokmurian's stone giants attacking the elven town were defeated by a small band of Elven Bladesingers under Eldrin Aetherwood.
Quillax:"Apologies for the rushed welcome. We had a little bit of an incident. We're still in a bit of a rush. Someone let the Librarian know I'm coming."
Simon N. (GM):Sheela nods: "Alkaia, inform the Librarian of the Archdruid's return!" The pixie nods and flies off.
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin look down at the grubby hand, pausing a moment then shaking. " Much appreciated, to be honest, the road was calling me again, and i suppose the fate of the world certainly is a good excuse to get on it again"
Simon N. (GM):You enter the fortress and can ascend to the great hall & living quarters.
Quillax:"And tell Clank I'm home," she calls out, eyeing Eldrin at his pause before she sweeps off towards the Library, expecting everyone to follow.
Simon N. (GM):GM: Quillax heads for the library, a coterie of druids in train.
JamesDevil:"I need to go deal with this major who thinks he can order around MY army"
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin gracefully bows.
Simon N. (GM):Mayor not Major, Claw :)
That's a minute again :(
Quillax:Q pauses at his voice. "Be back as soon as you can, Claw. We've got to go make sure Drak isn't dead. Or get his body. Eldrin, you can come with me or go with Claw, or stick with one of the druids. Mal, you're free to wander. Ask anyone if you need help."
Simon N. (GM):I'm on tethered phone connection, you could try that Chris if Wifi bad?
Jorian Drake:(using desktop computer is likely best)
Quillax:"There's the kitchen, potions areas, armoury, all at your pleaure. Or the Library, of course."
Eldrin Ætherwood:"i can accompany uou, if yo uwish."
Eldrin Ætherwood:*if you wish
Quillax:"And plenty of goodberries! The youngest acolytes use that as a practice spell. I'm surprised we don't drown in them, but they make a damn fine wine."
Quillax:"Come along then, Eldrin. No time to stand on ceremony."
"End of the world is nigh and all."
Simon N. (GM):GM: Quillax & co descend into the bowels of Jorgenfist, eventually reaching the Therassic Library, a vast cylinder of books descending deep into the earth.
Jorian Drake:(We lost Chris? He's still online in Discord)
Quillax:Chris sent a message to the chat
Jorian Drake:(
"Chris T.:and counting" ?)
Simon N. (GM):libray entrance - This long hallway has a looming ceiling forty
feet above and is decorated with an intricate
display of stone supports and beams. The walls
are carved in long swaths of densely scribed
runes—the seven-pointed star is repeated
often. To the east, the hallway has caved in
Simon N. (GM):entirely—a battered door protrudes from the
rubble, but the hall beyond is completely filled
with detritus. To the west, the hall ends at an
immense bronze double door that bears a huge
mirrorlike silver inlay of the ubiquitous sevenpointed
star. This set of doors has no obvious
Simon N. (GM):hinges, handles, or locks, save for a single tiny
star-shaped indention at the center of the larger
mirrored star.
library - Numerous glowing crystal lanterns hang on fine
chains from the domed ceiling sixty feet above,
filling this circular room with bright light. The
Simon N. (GM):walls of the room are carved with more runes and
sigils, while overstuffed wood-and-leather chairs
and polished oak tables surround a thirty-footwide
shaft in the floor.
The library attendants are two strange 'mechanical men' - Clank & the Librarian.
Quillax:"Ah, Clank, Librarian! How are you? Any trouble while I was away?"
"New friends," she waves at those that are unfamiliar with her metal companions.
Claw:"Good to see you again buddy, how you holding up?"
Simon N. (GM):Clank: "WELCOME MISTRESS. IT IS MOST GOOD TO SEE YOU!" He jiggles happily.
Quillax:She pins Eldrin with a basilisk like stare. "You treat them with the same respect you would give to me, or else."
Claw:Claw has ALOT of blood of him, more so than normal
Simon N. (GM):The Librarian nods. "INDEED, INDEED!"
Quillax:She then sweeps over to Clank and Librarian and greets them.
Eldrin Ætherwood:"oh you were talking to me? I often get lost in my thoughts, forgive me" EHello there, Clank is it?"
Quillax:(I've got him on messenger, so I'm just sending him screenshots to keep up to date on the text."
Simon N. (GM):The automata nod affably to Eldrin.
Jorian Drake:(hello back!)
Simon N. (GM):GM: Meanwhile Drakhaien has evaded the Kuchrima and is Wind Walking back to Jorgenfist, ETA 7 hours.
Maybe a bit quicker with bonus action Dash.:D
GM: Claw you are pretty much reliant on Quillax to get to Magnimar & Mayor Grobaras in any reasonable time?
I've already written up a short rant that Claw will have at hm :P
Jorian Drake:"Maybe a bit quicker with bonus action Dash.:D"
can use shadow steed
Phantom Steed
Simon N. (GM):Instead of Wind Walk?
Jorian Drake:after a decent distance made
Simon N. (GM):Wind Walk is Speed 300'!
Quillax:(you still have wind walk - it's good for 8 hours)
Simon N. (GM):WW is 3 times faster than Phantom Steed
Claw:Claw is going to take a quick rest to spend his hit die befor heading off
Jorian Drake:sure, but I doN't know if that spell will remain for the whole duration, just saying I have that option as backup
Simon N. (GM):WW will get you to Jorgenfist you know.
GM: Quillax settles into the library to resume her researches and work out what to do. There is a ton of info on that fortress where the Kuchrima beat you up. After 6 hours Drakhaien returns to Jorgenfist and de-clouds, reuniting the party.
Quillax:"Ah good, you're back safely! I had hoped you'd be resourceful enough. Someone will help find you food and wine, then when you've washed your hands, you can come help dig through the books."
Drakhaien (WIP) returns still masked and wordless, he sits down and begins to juggle five colourful balls
Simon N. (GM):Krak Naratha, a huge fortress that guards
the entrance to the valley of Xin-Shalast. Its walls are
50 feet thick and rise to a height of 75 feet. The square
towers extend as high as 200 feet. Krak Naratha is
composed of volcanic glass harvested from the caldera
east of the valley, its roof and edges once gilt in gold
Simon N. (GM):but now only retaining splashes of color. Its joint
seams are very f ine and almost invisible in the dark
stone. The gates of Krak Naratha fell long ago, leaving an
empty gatehouse to provide entry to its bailey. The
former garrison blockhouse has partially collapsed,
as has much of the northeastern wall. The ancient
Simon N. (GM):volcanic eruption did signif icant damage to these
structures, but not enough to completely destroy them.
A smaller gate to the east of the ruined blockhouse
once opened into the Slave District, but this is now
blocked by a mass of ice. Anyone climbing the tower
stairs up to the fortress’s rear wall can easily descend
Simon N. (GM):onto the surface of the lava f low (which lies only 8 feet
below the ramparts).

Simon N. (GM):GM: Suggest we move forward to eg dinner time where you can decide what to do next?
Quillax:(yes - speaking of, I've been asked to help, so I'm cooking and typing in parallel, so might be interesting :D )
Drakhaien (WIP):Unsure about resting rules, due to house rules: Can drakhaien fully heal and rest up?
Simon N. (GM):From what Claw can gather from the druids, his Goliath & Giants harassed the Greed army a bit to slow them down but did not engage heavily, and are still here in the mountains, while his human fores at Storrval Steps fell back to Ravemoor (which he owns) to evacuate the town ahead of the enemy's arrival. The Druids tried to Send to him but apparently Xin-Shalast blocks Sending?
Drak can Short Rest and spend Hit Dice.
Simon N. (GM):Long Rest is 7 days, Drak has 1 hour before dinner, time for a Short Rest.
18+10+10+10+13=61
have to spend more
Quillax:(chris says he's giving firefox a final chance)
Claw:"Hmm, that makes the situation different, I was still expecting our forces to hold them back completely"
Simon N. (GM):At dinner you are joined by the senior Druids Sheela & Dermirr, and Rothunn the chief druid under Archdruid Quillax.
Drakhaien (WIP):(I doN't know what Chris's issue is but I can say for certain that it isn't Firefox:I'm using that since forever, at elast 10+ years)
Simon N. (GM):Dermirr's black bear Tom sits under the table eating scraps, while Sheela's pixie Alkaia flits about.
Chris T.:about 30 second leg still :(
Drakhaien (WIP):(Try talk to your provider)
Quillax:Simon will just have to pause between typing :)
Chris T.:Sorry guys. I'm out. Have a great time and good luck!
Claw:Claw gives Dermir a neck scratch
Quillax:Dermirr's bear, I hope :D
Claw:"reminder me of my old tribe...before...."
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn: "They did their best without your leadership, Lord Claw. If you need transport I can fly you on my hippogriff? Not as fast as the Archdruid's magic, of course!" He smiles modestly.
142/143, 3 HD of 20 left
Simon N. (GM):Tom the Bear sighs contentedly as Claw scratches behind his ears.
Simon N. (GM):Sheela: "You avenged your tribe, Lord Claw. The Kreeg Ogres are no more."
Claw:"depending on what we decide to do now, it might be better not to"
Simon N. (GM):Servants bring large platters of roast boar for Claw, more moderate servings for the others.
The Druids of Jorgenfist always eat well!
Claw:"until the last of these lords are defeated my vengence is not finished"
Claw begins trearing off large portions of the boar
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn nods, speaking between mouthfuls. "Indeed. Karzoug must fall!"
Eldrin Ætherwood:"My oh my, what a feast"
Quillax:Q looks over at Claw, "We haven't much time. We failed at the first approach against those winged Kuchrima due to numbers. With Eldrin," she nods to him, "that gives us one more but we will need to be more strategic in our next action"
"Eat up," she nods to Eldrin. "None go hungry here, not even our own little Greed." she grins at Claw.
Eldrin Ætherwood:"what are you facing mostly out there?"
Drakhaien (WIP):Drakh lets his balls roll through the table from one end of the furniture before the guests, and his companions as they eat, then he disappears under the table to pop up on the other side of it, collecting the balls which fell off the table buincing around.
Simon N. (GM):Sheela: "We think the Greed army will reach Ravenmoor within two days. Perhaps a week from there to Wolf's Ear (Quillax's home town). Mayor Bruin of Wolf's Ear is ready to evacuate the town."
Quillax:"Runelords, and the most powerful of magics," she sighs. "Any that need to be evacuated, we will ease the path. Get the acolytes out there with whatever magics they have learned. I want my people safe. If it means bringing them here, so be it."
Claw:"Can we make it to Ravenmoor in two days?"
Simon N. (GM):Dermirr: "Mayor Grobaras has pledged to accommodate all refugees in Magnimar. But if the enemy reach the City Walls, he will have no choice but to employ the Meteor Bombards - the Perfect Atomisers. The enemy will be annihilated. And..."
Drakhaien (WIP):roll roll roll
bounce bounce
Simon N. (GM):GM: If Quillax can cast Transport via Plants you can be at Wolf's Ear or Ravenmoor whenever you want.
Quillax:She looks to Eldrin. "The Runelords have not yet managed to fully force their way back onto our plane but they are close. They have Seconds in command who wield their magics in a similar way. And the Rune Marks. To kill one of the Rune Lord's minions who are marked, is to give them a death-magic boost."
"Each death of their minions makes them more powerful, so we are ever at a quandry."
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin looks up surprised. "meteors? Powerful magic that. I've fortunately never had to use such things. Though, if things get that bad..."
Quillax:"And the meteors would kill hundreds of their Marked, making them all the more powerful. We need to stop the rot at its source, the Rune Lords themselves."
Simon N. (GM):Dermirr turns to Eldrin. "Aye. A dragonborn arcanist from the Perfect Isle - Hermea - crafted them to defend Magnimar. They can destroy the Greed army. But the life energy released will likely free Runelord Karzoug."
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin, looking deep in thought. " So, it's almost like we would have to go straight for the head, kill the Rune lords without the minions, but that would be near impossible"
Quillax:"Such is our plan."
Eldrin Ætherwood:"crafted magic that strong? Impressive"
"near impossible" Eldrin smirks
Quillax:"Such is our life," Quillax laughs.
Eldrin Ætherwood:"i haven't come this far in my life by failing"
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn: "I have examined the plans. The Atomisers are undoubtedly awesome - but they are heavy - and they are single use. Each one, once fired, is spent."
Drakhaien (WIP):A seethrough, multicolored blinking ball boings across the table
Simon N. (GM):OOC These druids are Technodruids like Quillax, so a bit unusual. :)
Quillax:"Then be welcome, Eldrin, to our near impossible journey! More wine!"
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn gives Drakhaien an irritated look as the ball bounces past his nose.
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin smiles 'Please"
A whole Barrel of it!
Simon N. (GM):Servants bring copious wine and two dwarves roll in a large barrel of ale for Claw. :)
Claw:Claw starts chugging it
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn: "Archdruid, shall I Send word to Magnimar of your return? Of your discovery of Xin-Shalast?"
Quillax:Q sets aside the wine. "Yes, I will draft you a missive with all that has happened so they are aware. If we fail, others will need to be able to follow us."
Simon N. (GM):OOC rem Sending is 25 words
Claw:seed muiple of them :P
Simon N. (GM):He could blow 2 level 3 slots on 50 words (he's 6th level) :)
Drakhaien (WIP):A soundless musicbox with a tiny garden gnome holding a leaf umbrella appears in the centre of the table, the figure silently turning around and the lever of the musicbox goes round and round, without any noise.
Simon N. (GM):Sheela shudders at the sight of the gnome. "That's creepy."
Drakhaien (WIP):As if the gnome's feelings were hurt, the box with him suddenly pops out of existence
Claw:Claw turns to Drake "its ok, I liked the little guy"
Drakhaien (WIP):Drakhaien bows a bit at Claw
Simon N. (GM):Sheela reddens. "My apologies, Lord Claw."
Claw:"but then most people are little to me and tend to go quite, appearently they get scared around me? can't imagine why"
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin mutters to himself "mmmm, good wine"
Claw:"no need to aplolgise"
Quillax:"Ignore him," Q waves at Sheela. "He's getting maudlin."
"Right. I'll draft up that letter. How do we want to proceed? We can return the way we came and try to draw the Kuchrima out in smaller groups."
Claw:"hmm, I wonder if that female leader we met a few months back is leading that army personally?"
"I she is we could defeat her and potentially the army might dispurse"
if*
Rothunn: "Yes, our reports say Viorian Dekanti commands the Greed army."
Drakhaien (WIP):A golden trophy appears on the table now. On top of it a golden figure of Claw, holding triumphally a golden 'flaming' sword with his two little arms up to the sky when Claw questions himself, while having half a dozen various golden women at his feet swooning over the barbarian.*
Quillax:"They do not seem to be as honorable as they used to."
"Greed's influence, perhaps?"
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn: "When was Greed ever honourable, my lady?"
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin squints at the trophy
Quillax:"Greed: never. But the Giants we have encountered have become less so."
Claw:"sigh, i know this is becoming somewhat of a trend, but perhaps a duel? maybe not me this time"
Quillax:"Taking Viorian out does not mean the army will slow."
Simon N. (GM):OOC Viorian Dekanti was a human mercenary.
Karzoug spoke through her, same as he did with Mokmurian 7 years ago.
Quillax:"Or indeed the human spokesbody of Greed. It may slow Greed somewhat as once before."
Claw:"ok, if the army is attackinghere, then it stand to reason that they are not defending there!"
Drakhaien (WIP):The golden Trophy changes, this time it is Quillax on top of it standing with a fist bump raised to the sky , half-transformed into a (golden) stone elemental, and standing with one foot over a figure that may be Viorian and acouple of Runelord soldiers*
Claw:or at least fewer forces will be present
Quillax:"Possibly. But equally likely, they will have left their most powerful behind."
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn: "I have seen the Greed army. Orcs in large numbers. Shoanti humans. Some ogres. No giants, that I saw."
Rothunn nods to Quillax. "I believe so, Archdruid."
Drakhaien (WIP):(I figured out a good way to go around the restrictions of the mask not letting me speak, as some spells I have don't have a vocal component)
Claw:"so...they are greddy, hence the name...is there any chance we could just...pay them off? a little nuts I know"
Claw may or may not be a little drunk at this point
Drakhaien (WIP):The golden trophy falls to pieces, into a pile of little golden coins
Eldrin Ætherwood:"I certainly couldn't pay off the Giants who attacked my village"
Quillax:"The problem with that, dear Claw, is that they forever want more. Give them gold until there is no more, they will want the gems. When the gems are gone, it will be lands"
"No, the only way is to stop the problem at it's source."
Claw:"Then we go and hit the source as soon as possible, no more delays
Drakhaien (WIP):The pile disappears and now a small green orc soldier in the colors and with sigil of Greed on shield stands on the table. THen this image changes to one where the shield symbol is painted over by Claw's clan mark, then a bit later the figure changes to that of the half ork being weapon and armorless, with a small bag and in old rags like a jobless beggar
Quillax:"Upon the morn, we shall strike out again. Rothunn, Sheela, I leave you in charge of ensuring Wolf's Ear is evacuated and over guarding this Library. If it comes to it, everyone is to use Stone Shape and Seal it off completely. Bury it under a volcano, but the RuneLords must not get it."
Simon N. (GM):OOC BTW is Drakhaien wearing his eyeless nightgaunt mask at dinner? So he's not eating? :)
Claw:Claw walks up to Claw
Clank*
Simon N. (GM):The Druids bow to their Archdruid. "It shall be done. The Stone Giants of Conna and Galenmir stand ready to aid us."
Claw:"Hey buddy, sorry I haven't gotten your sword back yet"
Simon N. (GM):ooc rem no long rest overnight, but you've only had 2 fights since last LR.
Drakhaien (WIP):(ooc yes Drakh is not eating)
Claw:"I have a feeling someone will turn up once we beat it, i'll get it back for you then"
Claw winks at him
Simon N. (GM):Clank nods. "THANK YOU MR CLAW. I'M VERY GRATEFUL THAT YOU ARE THINKING OF ME."
Quillax:Q smiles softly to herself, then turns towards the rest of the table. "An early morning my friends. I'll write the missive now, excuse me."
Claw:Quillax mind if I borrow bunch of that oitment? I'm still a bit soure after that last fight
134/385
Quillax:She nods. "There is a whole closet of it," she says. "I've been practicing."
Quillax:"Take as much as you need to come to full strength." (2d8+2 for each)
Drakhaien (WIP):A small chest appears now on the table, with open lid and on wheels, inside of it there a bunch of this oinment bottled up
Quillax:(I'll just mark gold off for whatever you use as Q would have kept the place well stocked :) )
Simon N. (GM):GM: You can recover +20 hp free for overnight rest at Jorgenfist.
GM: OK, you rest overnight, Rothunn sends a 50 word summary report to Sheila Heidmarch in Magnimar to be conveyed to Mayor Grobaras.
Quillax:(does there happen to be a better shield or armour stashed in the building? She's got +2 studded and a shield that gives +4 AC, but would be good to get even a bit more for higher AC :) )
Claw:OOC smn Shall I just assume that I use enough oilment to get back to max hp, or do you want me to roll for all of it?
Simon N. (GM):Divide missing hp by 11 rounding down & we'll say that's how much ointment is used, then Keelia can deduct cash from Quillax's treasury.
Simon N. (GM):GM: Dermirr smiles at Quillax. "Please, Archdruid, take my shield!" It's a +1 Shield.
Drakhaien (WIP):(that's a +3 AC shield)
Simon N. (GM):OK Keelia deduct cost of Koeghtom's
& +2 armour with +1 shield will raise AC another +1
I guess?
Quillax:(My shield does +4AC already, so I'll stick with that one :) )
Drakhaien (WIP):(That is likely a +2 magic shield then)
Simon N. (GM):If you have +2 armour & a +2 shield already you won't easily be able to improve AC short of using Attuned items.
Quillax:(OK, will just have to continue to hope the bosses roll low :D )
"Thank you Dermirr, this one still has some life in it."
Eldrin Ætherwood:whats current AC?
Drakhaien (WIP):(+3 armor or shield may still be somewhere)
Simon N. (GM):He smiles warmly at Quillax. "As you will, Archdruid."
+3 is the best in the book so fairly rare.
Quillax:(21 ointment = 5 batches with 4 remaining, so Claw keeps 4 and I'll take off the 500 gold)
(Oh, btw, if anyone wants to offload anything from bags, now is the time.)
Claw:OOC are there any health poition we can buy before we leave? and/or perhaps a potion of haste?
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn: Lord Claw, I have one Sending remaining if you would like me to pass on a message to Mayor Grobaras?"
They have 44 potions of healing (2d4+2) at Jorgenfist, if that helps?
Drakhaien (WIP):(good thinking on potions, we need all the healing)
Claw:"no, change of plan, send one to my wife, tell her I love her and (Claw wispers something to him)
Rothunn becomes a little red with embarrassment
Simon N. (GM):Rothunn Sends.... a moment later he nods. "Your wife responded. She says she loves you too, and when you get back she'll..." reddening again, he whispers in Claw's ear. :D
Drakhaien (WIP):A small steel dildo apppears on the table quivering and vibrating a bit before it disappears
Claw:OOC god its good to be married ;)
Simon N. (GM):Sheela glowers, looks like she wants to slap Drakhaien. Instead she turns to Quillax. "Archdruid, won't the forces of Greed be ready for your return? I fear for your safety."
Quillax:"Undoubtedly they will," she sighs. "We will have to take care and try to draw just a few of their forces at a time."
Claw:ooc how much per potion again? I've lost the link :(
for keo's
Simon N. (GM):healing is 2d4+2
Simon N. (GM):Keoghtom's 2d8+2 and cures disease
Quillax:or 2d4+2 for the 44 healing potions
Simon N. (GM):I expect Quillax won't charge you? :D
Quillax:Q can make them 5 for 125gp for k's and 25g for healing. She doesn't take money payments from her allies.
Claw:I was going to buy the 44 poitions if i can afford them :P
Simon N. (GM):The healing cost 25gp to make and typically retail for 50gp
Quillax:unless she's broke :D
25gp for 5.
So no drama.
Claw:ugh, i only hqaave 130gp
Claw:At least thats what what i have written down
Eldrin Ætherwood:"any potions available for me? I didn't stock up before i left"
Simon N. (GM):Maybe you can kill some rats in the cellar for coppers?
Quillax:We sold all that stuff for loads
Claw:Oo yea, all that liguid meta star stuff
Simon N. (GM):You looted the treasures of Xin!
Quillax:Q will give Eldrin 10 keo's and 10 standard potions
Claw:ok, I think i'll take all 44 then for the party ;)
Eldrin Ætherwood:(what's a keo?)
Quillax:Keoghtom's ointment - heals 2d8+2 and cures disease
Jorian Drake:Not all of us, I'm still trying to find the list posted by Simon earlier on crafting to decide if I want to use all those unique materials for anything
haven't sold it as Drakh
Eldrin Ætherwood:Ok thanks
Claw:so, 2200gp for all healing potions :)
Eldrin Ætherwood:2200 for the 20 i just bought?
Quillax:No. 550 for the 20 I just gave you. But don't worry about it.
And Claw, it's 25gp for 5, potions. Also don't worry about it.
Claw:I bought them, for the group, take however many you need
Eldrin Ætherwood:"as you wish, Archdruid"
Simon N. (GM):brb tea break then I'll move on to next day
Eldrin Ætherwood:kk see ya soon
Jorian Drake:Do you like the edited char token for Eldrin?
Eldrin Ætherwood:ah yes, i just looked. Thanks for doing that buddyt
Looks great
Drakhaien (WIP):np, I prefer the round frames, but using this edgy one for Drakh atm
Eldrin Ætherwood:Suits the mask and cocked head
Makes him look a littlore more crazy, with that border. i like it
Drakhaien (WIP):yeah, Drakh is a detective/trickster, chaotic good entertainer, just fount the image I use now for him a week or two ago
Eldrin Ætherwood:He isn't human?
Simon N. (GM):OOC will finish up around 6.30
Drakhaien (WIP):no he is not, fellow pointy ears :)
Eldrin Ætherwood:Ah course ;)
Simon N. (GM):Drak is a Forlorn, a 'city' elf from the chaotic mostly human city of Riddleport south of the Mierani Forest.
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin is a Chaotic good, Gladiator/Entertainer. Used to be a travelling swordsman, entering tournaments
Simon N. (GM):All your PCs are well known, almost legendary in Varisia.

Eldrin Ætherwood:That's pretty cool. I'm so used to playing low level low renown heros haha
Simon N. (GM):GM: The next day dawns bright and cold with scudding cloud coming in off the western ocean.
Claw:OOC I've got dinner ordered for 7 btw
Drakhaien (WIP):I have a familiar as Drakh but constantly forget about it because I'm not having one with any other character
Simon N. (GM):The druids of Jorgenfist gather to see you off again (stopping 6.30 James I)
Claw:So lets get some good killing in ;)
:)
than ks
Eldrin Ætherwood:Ok cool cool
Drakhaien (WIP):(please not me)
Eldrin Ætherwood:Can i spend an hour to bring fourth my Owl familiar?
Simon N. (GM):What's the plan Quillax?
@owl - Yes
Simon N. (GM):It's about 20 hours since you reached Jorgenfist
14 hours for Drak
Drakhaien (WIP):(I got a ritual book wit hthe Find Familiar spell and a female albino bat familiar called Eclipse, I always forget that tho, and pretty sure it could easily die in any battle at this high level)
Eldrin Ætherwood:Yeah, i'm thinking the same.
Quillax:Q ushers them together. "We can use WindWalk to return to where we were. Remember when we get to the base where we fought those winged things, hang back. We'll try to lure just one or two. Don't go high or your wind form will disintegrate. Eldrin, just follow us. It will take 1 minute to reform, so we'll find a safe place there."
Drakhaien (WIP):Drakhaien mimes a heavy sigh on the mention of wind walk, remembering how he was left behind earlier
Eldrin Ætherwood:"so be it"
Quillax:Q pins Drak with a sharp gaze. "Try not to get too far away while invisible. I can't exactly see you when you do that."
(It was plane shift :) )
Simon N. (GM):>>Don't go high or your wind form will disintegrate<< It may be possible to run before the wind - probably Survival checks & CON saves in order :)
Eldrin Ætherwood:"there is powerful wind magic there"
Quillax:
rolling d20+9
=
27
for survival :D
In case that helps for when they get going
Simon N. (GM):OK Quillax :)
Quillax:"Oh, and don't go against the wind when we get up there, it makes us visible."
Eldrin Ætherwood:"Don't go higg, don't go against the wind. Got it"
Drakhaien (WIP):I didn't actually try this earlier, but Drakh will try to turn invisible after already becoming a cloud with his at-will power.
Quillax:"You'll get the hang of it quickly enough," Q laughs and casts the spell
Claw:ooc gogo fart power!
Eldrin Ætherwood:"Its been so long since i've been in a real fight" A slow crreping smile crosses Eldrins lips.
Quillax:"You won't have to worry about that with us! It's not getting into fights that we struggle with."
Simon N. (GM):GM: Quillax turns you all into clouds. Rising up, you head north east over the mountains and the plains of the Cinderlands towards the far-off peaks of the Kodar mountains. 6 hours later you near your destination... flying up the river valley into the mountains, Quillax leads you up to the Icefens, where below you see the sylph form of Svevenka the Ice Nymph giving you a cheerful wave. Apparently cloud form is not foolproof. :)
Quillax:Q waves back as they pass
Drakhaien (WIP):Drakh now attempts to become an invisible cloud
Simon N. (GM):From here Quillax can work out the route north of the no-longer-visible ethrereal River Avah, to where it meets the Yellow Brick Road.
Eldrin Ætherwood:Eldrin lets out a laugh in excitment. "7 years in crying leaf felt like a life time"
Quillax:"Oh, by the way, expect that pretty much everything has true sight up here," she breathes out as they go. "Or insane senses."
Drakhaien (WIP):cloud Drakh silently 'nods' at that
GM: You can't talk in cloud form, so telepathy only (if you have any!)
"the Fen of the Icemists. Once a lake,
this region was clogged with silt by several volcanic
eruptions at the time of Thassilon’s fall, creating this
treacherous and unique high-altitude fen. The waters
Simon N. (GM):of the Icemists are in a constant state of freezing and
thawing, with the mix of high altitude and latent
Simon N. (GM):volcanism creating a mist-shrouded frozen region of
water and swaths of icy mud. No plants exist in the
Icemists apart from the ever-present stalks of strange
pale fungi and clots of f loating lichens that cover and
Simon N. (GM):hide deep tarns of freezing water—the entire region
has about it a chilling aura of frozen menace.
Simon N. (GM):The Fen of the Icemists is riddled with hummocks
of solid ground and protruding rocks."
Quillax:(pre-cloud advice then :) Undoubtedly they would have filled Eldrin in on what had happened :) )
GM: Are you heading north to the road then following it to Xin-Shalast again?
Quillax:Yes, following the road, sticking low to be less visible.
Simon N. (GM):OK... some miles north of the fens you pick up the ancient roadway and follow its course roughly north-east towards the fabled city.
Drakhaien (WIP):even more so if Drakh succeded to become an invisible cloud
Simon N. (GM):(Yes Drak your wisps are invisible - so no one can see you nod!) You pass over the giant sentry post cave - to Drak & to Claw's eagle gaze it looks inhabited, the gate stones having been pulled back into position. No sign of alert though.
keep going?
Quillax:Q will lead them back towards the buildings they originally hid in
keeping low and sweeping between building to keep out of sight as much as possible
Simon N. (GM):Two miles further on...
XIN-SHALAST
This tableau defies belief. A narrow mountain pass
opens into a glacial valley extending north and
then turning to the west at the base of the vast
mountain at the far end. Filling this valley is an icecapped
Simon N. (GM):city of enormous proportions. The near
Simon N. (GM):end is mostly blocked by a huge fortress of smooth
black stone, with multiple towers rising from its
high walls. Exiting the bailey of this fortress is a
massive causeway of gold that dominates the city
as it travels down the center of the vale. Enormous
Simon N. (GM):towers and spires of many-colored stone pack
Simon N. (GM):both sides of the central thoroughfare, rising to
prodigious heights and giving the illusion that the
road itself is a valley. The eastern slope of the valley
has been partially subsumed by an ancient volcanic
flow—nearly a quarter of the city appears to have
Simon N. (GM):been so buried. That section is now little more
Simon N. (GM):than a great mass of ice, with the jagged angles
and peaks of ruined structures poking through
its topmost layer here and there. Where the
valley curves slightly to the west, the structures,
if anything, grow even larger, becoming trulySimon N. (GM):gigantic as they climb up and over the rocky spur.
Simon N. (GM):At the far end of the valley, the city abuts the lower
slope of a truly massive peak. Yet the city builders
appear to have taken no heed of this change in
slope, for the great causeway merely elevates at a
steep angle and continues to climb the incline in a
Simon N. (GM):nearly straight line, transforming into an immense
Simon N. (GM):stairway. Additional buildings cling precariously
to the mountain face alongside the causeway,
growing even larger and more impressive as they
ascend. The gigantic buildings finally give way
a few thousand feet above, but the mighty road
Simon N. (GM):continues to wend its treacherous way to just
Simon N. (GM):below the mountain’s peak. There, a spired citadel
looms, its size and proportions truly magnificent.
It, too, fails to summit the mountain—instead,
its topmost spires end just below the dominant
face of a stern man, carved into the peak of the
Simon N. (GM):mountain and surveying the city below
Simon N. (GM):The
otherworldly quality of this strange panorama is
further reinforced by the sound of the cold winds
slicing across the high peaks, making strange cries
and shrieks in the thin mountain air..
Drakhaien (WIP):Drakh follows the example, even though he may be 'Invisible' because too many things have damn good sight or senses around here
Simon N. (GM):(reposting for Eldrin's benefit)
OK You stay low.
Wind is currently coming NW down the valley, so you're Wind Walking against the wind, making you easy to spot.
Simon N. (GM):It's still daylight currently, about 3.30pm, 7.5 hours since you left Jorgenfist.
Sunset is about 5.40pm
Quillax:WW lasts 8 hours, so we've got 30 minutes before we lose the forms.
Drakhaien (WIP):(floating against the wind was what also made us get spotted last time)
Simon N. (GM):Are you trying to get to the customs building where you fought the Kuchrima last time?
The white splash south of E on the VTT map.
Claw:You could probably sneak past them on your own Drak, maybe se how many are there this time?
Quillax:One near there, yes. Because they are going to turn back soon and they need a safe place to do so.
Simon N. (GM):OOC are you clustering out of sight of the fortress and de-clouding to talk?
Otherwise you can't talk AFAICS
Eldrin Ætherwood:"How far are we from your last fight with these flying beasts?"
Drakhaien (WIP):I guess we can't communicate currently in cloud form, so it is probably up to Quillax where we go and such
Quillax:Q picks one that is fairly solid looking and settles in to reform
Eldrin Ætherwood:Oh cloud form
Simon N. (GM):You reform in an old barn type building just north of the valley mouth
Claw:gah, food just arrived
Simon N. (GM):You're at the X on map
Eldrin Ætherwood:I dont see an X
Drakhaien (WIP) follows the other cloud's example and will reform invisibly too, then pop into their sight once done
Eldrin Ætherwood:oh i see it now
Right at the bottom
Simon N. (GM):The white X SW of 'FORTRESS'. Drak are you invisible scouting? One advantage of the wind direction is nothing can smell you as you'll be downwind.
Claw:right, guys, i need to leave now, soz, food arriver 30 mins early -.-
thanks for the gamE!
Simon N. (GM):hm ok let's stop there for today. Thanks all!
Eldrin Ætherwood:Thanks for the game
Drakhaien (WIP):Drakh wanted first to be seen by his allies, then listen to what they speak of, then probably scout a bit if the others suggest that
Drakhaien (WIP):right, thanks for the game
Quillax:I'll see you guys next weekend! Have a good one :)
Simon N. (GM):cheers :) I had fun playing the Druids :)
See you all next week!
