GM: OK you have finished transcribing the scribbles. From the partially collapsed southernmost section of the kennels area a narrow unexplored tunnel leads west.

JamesDevil: Claw will head to that narrow tunnel
joriandrake: Drakhaien hides/stealths after them
Smon: GM: The tunnel runs a long way - Claw will need a light source; torch?
Keelia: Quillax, grumbling to herself about wasting a damn fine spell, heads with them

joriandrake: Drak keeps to the shadows a bit away from the torch
Smon: After 60-70' it bends NW, splits and re-merges before opening into the south side of a square-cut 15x15' chamber. The walls floor & ceiling are densely packed with often overlapping writing. Four short lines stand out on the northern door (covered by a weak illusion Q & D can see through), carved into the stone.
Keelia: Quillax wanders over to the illusion to examine the lines
Smon: The chamber is bare, there are the remains of iron wall hooks as might be used for hanging robes, little more than rust smears now.
JamesDevil: Claw keeps watch for movement
joriandrake: Drak will conjure among the shadows a mage hand to check out the door with from afar
Smon: The writing reads

Keelia: Quillax hums at that. "I don't like that sound of that."

Smon: Claw proceeds into the tunnel - the trap seems deactivated - it runs 40' to a door in the east wall, then ends in a collapse about 10' further on. Q's dispel got rid of the illusion on this door, but it is emanating strong Forbiddance.

Smon: Beyond is a 5' entry to a chamber about 15' across, with a low table against far wall. The flowing runescripts on the walls of the chamber seem to physically writhe and move, even coming out from the walls to writhe in lazy tendrils of insane incantations.
Smon: You hear a chuckling sound from round the corner to your left, just out of sight. "Come then, my sucklings!"

JamesDevil: Claw throws his torch at the sound
Smon: The table has many vials of coloured liquid, and an inkwell with quill of peacock feather.
Smon: The scribblings twist and writhe on the walls, casting a purplish glow. You notice the feet & twisted lower legs of a human body on the floor, most of the corpse out of sight round the left corner, where the voice came from.
Keelia: Quillax lifts her hand in a produce flame for light
Keelia: "Vampire?"
JamesDevil: Claw steps into the room to get a better look, his axe raised
Smon: Claw enters the chamber and sees the Scribbler standing against the left wall, falchion & dagger in hand. The broken - but fresh looking - corpse wears a rent breastplate and looks like a human male, a junior Pathfinder by his clothes.
JamesDevil: roll init?
Smon: Scribbler: "That's Jaren Basvear of your Pathfinders - he has been most informative. Now, I need you as undead minions to fetch me the weapons of Runeforge. Please stand still and die quickly!"

joriandrake: A grappled creature can't take actions or reactions, Drak swaps to magic dagger with the intent to attack the Scribbler and cut off the right hand (or the left, whichever Drak thinks is the primary hand) then move back away
joriandrake: so, no hiding but sneak att due to Claw I assume

On the table are 17 vials of fine ink (worth 8gp each) and the peacock-feather quill. Drak senses it has power.

Smon: There are a lot of references to Runeforge - Scribbler was planning to send (undead?) agents there to gather supplies and raid it for magic items and texts, since he believed the place forgotten and abandoned in the current day.

Smon: GM: Do you want to meet w Sheila, go to Runeforge, go to Guiltspur, or something else? Q knows from her research in the Therassic Library that Karzoug's home was the legendary lost city of Xin-Shalast, high in the Kodar Mountains.

Smon: Alicia: "Maybe... Sheila Heidmarch believes she can reassemble the 7 Shards into the Sihedron, an artifact of unimaginable power."
Keelia: Wouldn't hurt to give Sheila an update, but that can be done quickly through tree stride or something similar. Especially if they are giving a shard away she wants to check with the other woman about Drak's reputation.
joriandrake: Meet with Sheila then?
Smon: "...All I know is, my dreams have returned. Karzoug needs to be stopped."
Smon: GM: OK so Claw & Quillax treestride to Magnimar, leave Drakhaien at Scarnetti manor for now?
Keelia: Let's do a quick fly by of Shiela and then Xin-Shalast perhaps?

Smon: She & Brodert meet you in the planning room, the door firmly shut against eavesdroppers.
Smon: Sheila: "Welcome my friends, and thank you for coming." She pours white wine.
Keelia: "Greeting Sheila. You look well. I'm glad Jaren was revived successfully."
JamesDevil: "Greetings all, long time no see"]
Smon: Sheila: "Thank you. You also. I have news - I believe I have finished my investigations of the Sihedron Forge under the Irespan, that Quillax and her team discovered 9 years ago. I believe we can now use it to reassemble the Sihedron, once all 7 shards are recovered. With it we will have a mighty weapon against Karzoug."
Smon: "However, Brodert counsels against this. He fears the power of Thassilon's artifacts. I would like your views, if I may."
Keelia: Quillax nods. "I admit I side with Brodert in that I know the artefacts are dangerous and the combined shards, if in the wrong hands, would be a disaster unlike we have known."
Keelia: She heaves a sigh.
JamesDevil: "To defeat a powerful foe, you need a powerful weapon, it gets my approval"
Keelia: "But there has been enough information recently to encourage us to look for the next shards."
Keelia: "As Claw says, we need a powerful weapon and too many others have the same idea to gather the shards. Best that we get there first."
Keelia: "If only so that we are ready in case such a weapon is needed."
Smon: Brodert: "The legends say the Sihedron embodied the Power of Friendship - Unity in Diversity. Certainly very powerful. But we cannot say how the corruption of the Shards may affect..." Sheila: "As you know, Brodert, we have the rituals to purify the assembled Shards. Many Pathfinders have worked hard for many years for this. Some have been lost."
Keelia: "Not to discredit their sacrifice, but Brodert is also right. The corruption still lingers even on the purified shards. As evidenced by our own changed behaviour. Though I loathe to admit it, I was not always so prideful. Nor Claw so greedy."
Smon: Brodert shrugs. Sheila gives Claw an approving look - a man after her own heart, clearly, then nods to Quillax. "Guiltspur lies within the ancient domain of Runelord Karzoug. If he is stirring, he may seek the next shard... as you say, better we claim it first."
Smon: Sheila eyes Quillax. "To be aware of one's shortcomings is to be in control of them."

Keelia: "Control is something that must be continually exerted. We must tried very carefully and only reforge the shards if and when absolutely necessary Such is my opinion."
Smon: (bye J, have another 1000 XP)
JamesDevil: "If we can retieve the Wrath shard, probably best I hold it, i've had years of controling my rage
Keelia: "But I believe we should be prepared for the eventuality that we may need a powerful weapon."
Smon: Sheila looks happy at the agreement to go after the Shards.
Smon: Brodert sighs: "It seems a reasonable plan, I suppose."
Smon: OOC So you are heading for Guiltspur next session, not Runeforge or Xin-Shalast?
JamesDevil: urm
Keelia: If we think the next shard is Guiltspur, then probably there?
JamesDevil: sounds reasonable
Keelia: No point in going to Runeforge until we have all the shards, is there?
JamesDevil: nope
Smon: GM: You can take time to do any prepping you need, and work out how you'll be travelling.
Keelia: Xin-Shalast might be a good side trip to see if there is any activity there, such as signs of someone trying to summon a runelord

Keelia: Quillax turns to Brodert, "Whatever information you can find on Xin-Shalast would be appreciated."
Smon:  GM: OK will stop there

Smon: Brodert nods: "Perhaps you could drop me off at your Therassic Library lady Quillax? I believe you have the most resources..."
Keelia: Quillax nods. "I'll place you under Clank and his friend's care and protection. They will help you gather whatever resources you request."
Smon: Q's library is at Jorgenfist on the map, which gets you a lot closer to Guiltspur anyway.
Keelia: Ah easy enough to Tree Stride back to the library and travel from there.
Smon: yup. Getting a boat north of the Storrval Rise may be a challenge though. Black Maga lives in the Storrval Deep but you'd be pretty unlucky to run into her near the north shore.
Keelia: Ah yes, Black Maga. We'll go around her, thanks. I have no interest in fighting something that enormous unless it is necessary to save the world.
Smon: You could eg make a raft at Jorgenfist and row/sail it down to the lake then upriver
JamesDevil: "sounds good, is need some exercise"
Keelia: That works
Smon: GM: If you want Quillax can have servants & lesser druids at Jorgenfist/Therassic library. Claw has a garrison at the Storrval Stairs too.
